4 Things I’ve Learned From Being Featured in Medium “Staff Picks”

It’s hard but the returned value is immense

After a month-long hiatus of publishing on this platform, I decided to share an article, “30 Things I’ve Learned About AI.”

It was a short compilation of insights and ideas I’ve gathered throughout years of studying and writing about AI. I was quite proud of the result but hit publish without expectations.

The next day, caught up in my usual habit of obsessively checking stats, I realized my article was in the top right corner of my screen. But it wasn’t my profile, it was the Medium front page. The Staff Picks section.

I was shocked.

Someone from Medium — thank you Harris Sockel — liked my writing and decided it deserved a feature. The next couple of weeks brought an influx of likes, comments, messages, new followers, and highlights. Pure delight.

Now that things are back to normal I’ve decided to do a short meta-compilation, i.e., a compilation of things I’ve learned by writing that one compilation of “things I’ve learned about AI.” Gotta turn on that snowball effect!
