Usually jobs are divided in two dimensions: cognitive/manual and routine/non-routine. Blue-collar jobs refer to manual jobs, but they can be routine or non-routine, and may involve skilled or unskilled labor.

I like the idea of randomness being the last stronghold for humanity, but I think AI could also get there. I think the last realm AI will touch is that of human relationships. Those places where being human, whatever that entails, is what's required. By definition AI can't get there.

And I also agree with the problems of displacement. Whether it happens to white-collar or blue-collar jobs first doesn't matter that much. We'll all be affected sooner or later and have to take measures colectively to reduce the impact.
