I think today's dumb AI is way more problematic and dangerous than tomowrrow's suposed singularity.

Many other people - better prepared than Gawdat - have talked about the long-term dangers of AI. Most of what there's to be said about it has already been said. Still we don't put enough effort to solve today's problems. Why? Because profits are always the first criterion to go forward in the business world.

The singularity is a technologico-philosophical problem (even if potentially real, it isn't real now). Mindless AI is a technological-social-economical-political problem. It touches every branch of our society and we should treat it with such importance.
