I agree with you, Ted. As long as we are aware that we're talking to an AI, it'd be fine.

However, we tend to forget it when AI starts to show human traits. Something as simple as two big circles in the face of a robot that blinks sometimes can induce feelings of love and compassion. The anthropomorphization of AI is very real and very dangerous. If we find ways to bypass it, then these types of AI would certainly bring more good than harm.
