It's the lack of ambition that I'm criticizing. ML/DL work very well at what they do. Today's paradigms are useful. I don't think anyone could doubt that.

However, I think we're overstating the importance or capacities of DL systems. Experts will know this, ofc. But what the majority thinks about it is also important.

Just because those people aren't in touch with AI we shouldn't stop trying to convey an honest view of what AI is today. The differences between DL systems and true AI should be more clear.

Also, I want AI to be smarter than it is today. I guess I have a preference for interesting things more than useful things.
