Thank you for your response Marcus! I agree with you. But, because we can't predict what will happen, I think a good approach is trying to find balance between honesty and taking care of other's emotions, while at the same time minimizing the damage we do.

In the end, relationships are so complex it's impossible to find a best way to do things.
