Well, I really don't think these AI models are going to replace human creativity.

On the one hand, they aren't truly creative the way we are because they can only extrapolate within the training distribution space. We can go beyond that in qualitatively distinct ways. We're generalizers.

On the other hand, we have to have a conversation about copying vs inspiration. The lines that separate those -- now very subjective -- concepts are getting blurred with these systems. But we'll get there, hopefully. And then, maybe prompting DALL-E with "in the style of X" will then be considered a copyright violation whereas a human artist (that has learned from X artist) would be simply taking inspiration.
